Shijrah Nasab of Hazrat Makhdoom Syed Shah Ahmed (rah) son of Hazrat Makhdoom Syed Shah Jalal (rah)
It is difficult to find from historical references when our ancestors migrated from their paternal town of Albaswani which was located between Makkah Moazzamah and Madinah Munawwarah to Tabraiz.
Tabraiz is located in northwestern Iran in the East Azerbaijan province between Eynali and Sahand mountains in a fertile area in shore of Aji River and Ghori River.
From historical references of our elders, we find that in 730 HJ (1329 AD) our forefather Hazrat Makhdoom Syed Shah Jalal with his real maternal uncle (maamoo) Malikus Sadaat Syed Ameer Masood Shah Ghazi (Tirmizi Albaswani) during the reign of Sultan Mohammad bin Tughluq came with his family from Tabraiz to Dehli. Per order of the ruler of India, Mohammad bin Tughluq, the Ameer Masood Shah Ghazi as chieftain and Makhdoom Syed Shah Jalal with 40 ulemas and sufis and with all their army were sent to fight against Raja Mandhata Chakor, whose throne was in Kathot. Kathot was in Ghospur, in the province of Kadipur.
Raja Mandhata was defeated. After the victory, Makhdoom Syed Shah Jalal changed the name of Kadipur to Ghazipur and settled there. After his death, his last resting place was built in Aam Ghat in the province of Ghazipur.
After the defeat of Raja Mandhata, his nephew (bhatija) escaped to the surrounding area of Kathot. Makhdoom Syed Shah Ahmed bin Jalal followed him along with his mujahideen, and another battle took place in which the nephew of Mandhata was killed. After the end of the battle and when peace was restored, Makhdoom Syed Shah Ahmed bin Jalal settled at the place of battle. He named the place of battle as Choki Chandan but later it renamed to Chowkia. There were twenty-three (23) villages in our forefather’s jurisdiction (Taa’luqa).
Hazrat Makhdoom Syed Shah Ahmed bin Jalal (rah) died on 17 of Ramadan around the end of eight HJ. His mazar shareef is in Chowkia.
The Shijrah was prepared by our forefathers in some form and in the modern age it was prepared by Manzoor Ahmed Jalali on a large parchment, which was later transcribed to a book form by Hakeem Ahmed Jalali and Ahsaan Ahmed, may Allah provide them the highest places in Jannah. Our thanks go to all those who kept our Shijrah intact and safe for our future generations to see and learn about our family background and all its members.
